KJ Yesudas Turns 69

Born to Augustine Joseph, a well-known Malayalam classical musician and stage actor and Elizabeth in Fort Kochi, Kerala, Yesudas earned fame in Mollywood in the  early 60’s.


He has rendered more than 40,000 songs in about 15 different languages and
has left indelible impressions wherever he went. Known as the “Jim Reeves of
South India” in his prime, KJY
stormed Bollywood with the film ‘Chitchor’. The mellifluous voice of Yesudas
combined with the magic music from Ravindra Jain had the whole of India in a
spell. He went on to sing some of the most memorable film songs in Bollywood
